BRIEF INFORMATION OF CREED MINISTRIES

India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country, and the most populous democracy in the world. World Bank estimated India’s population 139.34 crores (2021). India has the most number of languages spoken in any one nation: with 29 languages spoken by more than one million people each. We have more than 1,650 dialects. India also boasts of the largest diversity of races. Above all, India is a united nation in its diversity, makes it peculiar nation in the world. India has 29 states and 8 union territories in the country.

Since the independence in 1947, India has made enormous strides towards the progress of the nation. The concerted and coordinated efforts of the national governments through various Five Year Plans, starting from 1951, have changed the economic scenario of the country considerably. Agriculture production has risen steadily and progress of industrialization has increasingly play a role in India’s economic development. One of the most important aspects of India’s development progress is its remarkable regional disparity in eliminating basic deprivations. The economy suffers from large incessant inequalities. The majority of the poor people live in rural areas and belong to the category of landless laborers and the land continues to be highly inequitably distributed. On the other hand underemployment and unemployment are standard features of urban life.

The situation for children in India

According to recent report by UNICEF – India’s growth over the last two decades has contributed phenomenally to global human development. Even though, extreme poverty in India reduced to some levels, children face multiple challenges to step into a better future still. The numerous welfare schemes by the central and state Governments could not assure safe, protected healthy future for them. There’s a lot more to be done.

CHRISTIAN RURAL EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMICAL DEVELOPMENT MINISTRIES (CREED MINISTRIES) is Registered non-profit organization, which started in the year 2002 with a mission to bring lasting change among the most deprived communities – especially, children and women. CREED is granted with FCRA Registration from the Government of India; which entitles organization to receive foreign funding. Also, it’s been granted with Income Tax exemption under sections 12A and 80G. Although CREED can work anywhere in India, presently it is operating in Andhra Pradesh state, which is one among 29 states of India. Andhra Pradesh is a state in the south-eastern coastal region of India. It is the seventh-largest state by area of 162,975 kms. The state has 26 districts as per the re-organization structure and Prakasam district is one of the coastal districts of the state. CREED currently operates from Prakasam district where it has its office base. It’s about 270 kms away from the major city Chennai.
